Serves: 4 Cooking time (approx.): minutes Style: Italian Vegetarian 4 tablespoon(s) olive oil 4 tablespoon(s) finely chopped or grated garlic 2 cup(s) mushrooms sliced ½ cup(s) cream 2 tablespoon(s) shredded fresh basil salt and freshly milled black pepper to taste - Heat the oil in a pan and add the garlic. Saute on low heat for about 2 minute(s) or till aromatic taking care not to brown the garlic.
- Add the mushrooms and stir fry on medium-high heat for about 2 minute(s) or till the mushrooms are well fried and glossy.
- Reduce the heat to very low and add the cream. Stir in the fresh basil. Season to taste with salt and freshly milled pepper. Bring to a boil on low heat and put off the flame.
TIPS: - The quantity of cream can be increased or decreased if desired.
- Herbed mushroom sauce can be poured on a gnocchi of your choice and baked topped with cheese.
Serve hot with: Pumpkin and semolina gnocchi. |
