1. Chlorine is a greenish yellow gas with a sharp pungent irritating odour.
2. Chlorine turns moist starch iodide paper blue-black.
3. Chlorine being an alkaeline, turns blue litmus paper red and then
bleaches it.
4.Pass chlorine through silver nitrate solution, a white precipitate is
formed.
5.It decolourises potassium permanganate solution.
