   The S.I unit of force is newton. The C.G.S unit of force is dyne.

   One newton is the force which when acting on a body of mass 1 kg produces an
   acceleration of 1 m/s2 in it.

   1N=1kg*1m/s2

        =1000g*100cm/s2

        =100000 g cm/s2

        =105 dyne

   work is said to be done only when the force applied on a body makes the body
   move....i.e there is a displacement of the body

   S.I. unit of work is joule.

   1 joule of work is sais to be done when a force of 1 newton displaces a body
   through 1 metre in its own direction
